Hi Shirlz,
U can call me whatever you like!

Hopefully the NEEPs get together will help to allieviate some confusion- there are a few of us using different names in various fora. It's bit like a criminal network.....not that I'd know, of course!

Hello, you sound very organised and into the swing of selfsufficientish. My hubby has just been given some pallets, so we are going to make a compost heap. If he gets some more we might use them for planters or raised seed beds. All in preperation for our allotment. barb

Compost

Post: # 32121Post p999j »

Shirlz husband hopefully going to help me with compost bins this winter too- once my pumpkins have stopped growing on top of them, and once I use the compost that's there.

Strange satisfaction in spreading your own compost in the garden!
Maybe I'm just strange....

The final blaeberry forage

Post: # 32248Post p999j »

I'm hoping to do my last blaeberry collection this weekend.
Got some plums from work too, so maybe a plum tart and some more blaeberry ice cream. I think i really ought to stockpile it.
So hopefully wont run out too soon!

I think it'd work well at the farmers market, but its the wrong time of year to try to sell ice cream.

Maybe I need to do some planning for next year.

Hopefully picking up a freezer from freecycle if I can just sort out transport.

ISH is not a bad thing to be.

Are you in the emergency services by any chance or am I completely wrong? My other half uses 999 in his screename. He was a paramedic until and few months ago.
If in doubt ~ use a hammer!

Hi again

Post: # 32308Post p999j »

Hi Shiney,
No I'm not in emergency services. Just tried to think of something I'd remember!

Shirlz,
I did actually think of asking you guys but its a fair way to come. Finally got a delivery company to sort it out and it should be coming this afternoon.
Just as well as every space in the kitchen is covered with blaeberry ice cream again- I posted the recipe on the NEEPS website. Got a really good amount this morning- after a couple of hours of picking. Reckon I may have to put up with permanently purple fingers!

Thanks Shirlz,
That's really nice to know. And you don't need to wait til I call to drop in for some ice cream. Have enough to feed the whole of Inverurie!
Can't remember if you have my mobile.
PM me if not.
