The Choko tree fignts back

Post: # 4566Post Wombat »

Well folks, the inevitable has happened......

While pruning back the apple tree, I was attacked by a rogue choko  !

I was looking up and trimming a branch when the choko fell about 3 metres, hitting me over my left eye - no permanent damage but I now have a headache. So if you are growing chokos upwardly - beware  !

And if it had been a pumpkin? Dangerous business this growing upwards!

How's the eye today Nev?

P.S. I saw chokos in the supermarket "exotic" section - I think they are called Chayotes here.

Yeah, M3 I'm OK now, just a bit stunned at the time - beaned by a choko, how embarrasing! At least my family was able to derive some merriment out of it :?

Posting about it in the 'Knock yourself out' section was an inspired choice. No lasting damage I hope.

Growing things is just so dangerous - backache when you grow things at ground level; headache when you grow them higher up. I expect the Health & Safety Executive to come up with a rule that says all growing things must be between 18" and 48" from the ground.

Cheeky choko Nev, hope you are ok. Vegetables can be really dangerous can't they?
