wine bottle edging?

Just to let you know that garden edging in bottles in on the agenda!

May need some help emptying the bottles, a new delivery has just arrived

I didn't fill mine with anything. They seem fine so far. (It is very hot and dry here usually, although the bottles survived a freak snowfall/hard freeze this winter.) I've visited a 19th century bottle house at a mojave desert mining town, and it was made with empty bottles, too. I don't think filling them is necessary or convenient.

Love the bottle lined garden pic! That turned out gorgeous!

i found some solar fairly lights designed for outdoor use on there.

I've got some bottles collected. Just got to buy the lights and start experimenting.

my plan is:
Stick the peg with the cell somewhere bright.
Thread the lights into the bottles with the wire in between underground (i hope that's not to garbled).
Have pretty garden!

I liked the idea of building a house from bottles, but reading the article it looks like bottles have very poor thermal properties and the house is stone cold...

I did wonder if clear bottles might be any use for a greenhouse though....

Any thoughts form the slightly more technical minded bods?
