Feathers - still wanted

Post: # 64970Post Lord Azrael »

I'm still on the look out for some feathers for making longbow arrows. Preferably goose feathers, although any good size ones will be worth trying.

I will happily pay for P&P if you have a few spare around.

Hello,

A friend of mine once ask me for some feathers .. and he was telling me that he only needed the ones from the right wing ... is that common practice ?

As long as the feathers used on each arrow are from the same wing it's OK, if you mix them the arrow will probably fly off at a weird angle and impale something!
The feathers are usually obvious that they are from the same side in the way they're formed.

Yes, I did put an advert on there too. If you've got some spare that would be most appreciated.
If you let me know how much you want for them/P&P I can send you some money through, thanks.

I don't want anything for them - I will have to go and hunt about to see if I've actually got any about - probably are some though.... and they won't weigh anything so will just go in normal post for which it would be plain daft to expect any money towards :D

Did see your ad on neeps afterwards too.... you might want to talk to Ironworker about the blacksmithing though - sounds like a possibly neeps project.

Thanks for that, much appreciated. I will have to have a chat with Ironworker too, as I would love to try making the arrowheads myself one day rather than having to buy them.

Wow, they're pretty!
I could certainly give a few a try, the biggest ones would be best, any side.
I should imagine if there's any craft oriented people on here they may be interested too!
Cheers

should imagine it makes great fertiliser, after all chicken poop is sold as such, if I wasn't quite so far away, I would take the lot.
Opinionated but harmless
