well. my GM shares are doing a bomb, shame about all the world's grasses though! I'm getting quite used to the black sky, and these rockburgers are really quite tasty! The weather was really good today, took my gas mask off for a few minutes (probably shouldn't have done, still retching) - shame the nuclear plants flooded, but there's certainly a jolly variance in the grandchildren -especially the ones that glow in the dark, and the purple one! I seem to remember skimming stones as a kid in the sea off Eastbourne - so I tried again, the sea is now up to the Ashdown desert, and now there's a new twist - in the old days it was "how many skips", nowadays its more "it'll have dissolved by the third bounce! "

Puppy's getting older, he's got white bits on his whiskers. He's not at the stage of extra long life injections yet, and i don't think i will when the time comes. I'm letting him enjoy his old age at the moment. He's started catching fish in the river now - all the rats that ran to our higher land have been killed. We're gettng quite accustomed to the taste of rat stew - its a more tasty meat than i ever realised!!
Got to go, i hear the flapping of another fish - hopefully, it'll be enough to make a good dinner with!
Unemployment is raging here, since all the natural resources on the Island have been used up things are really bad.
We have 5 people in our little community now, all semi disabled like us, its getting crowded, but we're coping.
With the weather changes we're gardening a bit differently. Thank heavens for all the seeds we saved. And we're foraging, but a lot of wild foods that once grew here are gone due to the weather.
We added an angora goat to the bunch so I'll have wool to use once I get the hang of using my drop spindle.
Rick's doing okay, doing more carving now and finding a small market for his stuff amongst those who've lost everything.
We have an open meal one day a week and often feed up to 13 people besides ourselves.
I really wish we had more room so we could help more of them.
We do a lot of bartering to get things done, I've given up my car and use my bike or the transit link.
We finally reached the maximum of 4300 square feet of garden I wanted and with the extra people I'm growing more potatoes in tires and planter boxes.
We're staying warm, our new solar heating is marvelous and solar power is so much more dependable.
We can still get wood for our heater and we use that if we do have too much of a cold spell and for cooking as to save the solar power for other chores.
We've got a friend supplying us with honey from the bees he saved and we're doing a heck of a lot better than some others.
Had to replace our water pump, that was expensive, but we managed it, since the GOVT collapse we get much less on our pensions, but are able to barter or trade for most things.
