This all looks interesting...

I live in the back of beyond in a normal council house but with a HUUUGE garden - some of the lawn already dug up for organic veggies. My big love is natural dyeing and I do other textile crafts too. My dream is to have a polytunnel and also to have some hens as I grew up on a smallholding and we had the lot - it's the hens I miss, though. I'm a frustrated farmer as I come from a long long line of farmers in this very place. Am looking for ideas what to plant to over-winter. And looking forward to learning from you folk.

Hiya - welcome to the ishers!

I dug up some "lawn" last year for tatties... Well, it was more playground for the goats than "normal" front garden lawn anyway. And I keep planting fruit bushes in it, too.
