I decided to sort out the composters - one of those things that I've been merrily putting off forever. I used what was in One on the broad beans and soft fruit and rhubarb. I then thought the HUGE pile in Two really does need turning and I can't pretend that the squirrel keeps distracting me all the time. I removed the matted top and made the happy discovery that what I thought was a big pile of stuff not breaking down was already quite decent compost. Yay for chicken poo!

Three wasn't quite as nicely broken down as two but not far off. Again, I removed the top bit, flung that into one to start a new pile and sighed with relief, as the resident robin helped himself to the creepy crawlies.
Lots of wild birds about including a flock of long-tailed tits. That might encourage hubby to come and help me tomorrow as they are his favourite birds.
One of the other plot holders - hubby's cousin - has heard that one of the local nurseries gives some or all of their manure profit to Acorns Hospice. He's investigating and if this is so they will most likely become our supplier. More poo, we need more poo...!
