Heating a cauldron of water over a fire...

Thankfully, the days of heating a cauldron of water over a fire to have a bath or a wash are well and truly over.

Not in my house




The huge pot is used for heating water for cleaning and for E's bath... this is the only hot water we have in the house.



Not the worst situation in the world I must admit - we have an electric shower for us and I have several thermos flasks around the kitchen storing hot water for later.

I just laughed when I read that in the book...

Oh come on... At least you have a stainless steel pan, not a cauldron!

culdron would work as well or better - cast iron distributes the heat more evenly and stores it in the mass that it has!

My mother in law has several cauldrons...... one for spells, one for potions and one to boil me in if ever I darken the witches door.....
