Hi Battybird
So glad that you have eventually sorted it all out and that you can now take Chloe with you to Portugal.
Have a wonderful time and enjoy.

OK,here's how it is for us.I've NEVER had a pedigree dog.I've lost count of the number of times I've travelled to Italy through France.they always have a passport, but we've never been stopped in ANY country, and the only hassle has been when they've been coming into the UK,and that's been the customary DEFRA ballsup.

Update on passports just in case anyone else is looking into it! There are new rules from 1st Jan 2012 which will make it all much easier...no tick treatment, no blood test for rabies and only a 3 month re-entry wait after vaccination if non listed countries. 21 days only after rabies vaccination for EU countries, and flea traetment can be 1-5 days before entry to UK. Typical it will all happen AFTER we plan to go, but good for next visit! look at the DEFRA site for an update.

That's brilliant news, I always wonder about doing the blood test thing for my cat in case of the unlikely event I should have to move back to England.... don't plan to but if my OH kicks the bucket I would!

Sincerely hope it wont be necessary then!
