I met my wife in NZ and we spent our last few months over in Golden Bay. My Grandad's sister lives in Blenheim.

live's good up here. I spent most of my time working from home as an IT specialist and my wife is the boss on the farm. We have some problems with rabbits this year. Bl**dy bunnies had most of our veges and strawberries. And we were really early with planting and so proud that we managed to get organised!
How about you? I see you are in Sunny Nelson. Are you taking WWOOFers? We have some WWOOFers who want to go to Nelson to do some sky diving.

Hello.
My boyfriend and I moved into our house in September so we wern't too early with our planting, but we are eating stuff now so thats all good. we are just in town so don't have a lot of space but we are slowly converting more lawn into garden, and making some other changes. I would love to have a farm but that will have to wait for a bit till we get enough money! And we both work at the moment so we don't have a lot of time. I am envious of you working from home and having a farm! how much land do you have? What happens on your farm? Bummer about the rabbits.
I used to live up in Keri Keri but that was about 10 years ago.
We don't have wwoofers (no space, nothing for them to do, etc) but my parents do (who also live near Nelson) (though they haven't had many lately). I grew up having wwoofers in the house which was great, its a really great scheme. We have met loads of great people who we keep in touch with (I stayed with a few of them when I was overseas a couple of years ago).

We can count allright. Just don't ask us to count all those damn rabbits you have running amuck over there, because we sorted ours out years ago...And since when can Aussies count?
Decent fencing is an art we share with our kids, as is science... we also support the notion that all animals have their place. Unlike our Maori mates who have extra role requirements for their sheep and whatever other shaggy critters they can get their hands on....

See you are in Nelson. I was in there in 1963 in my past life as an MN seaman. All I remember was rather ancient cars, and having to sail out of port every time the wind changed and the water level dropped. Bit backwoods then - no doubt BIG changes in the 40+ intervening years.

O.K. the ewe jokers I guess I better poke my sticky beak in here too.
The bloody bunnies ate a lot of my onions this season too. But what are left grew too big as well.
And Boots, of course Aussies can count. Up to 10 anyway, like fingers and now they can also count up to 10 wickets.

and I'll come out of hiding - I've been lurking on the boards...
and I live in Tamaki / Auckland. In an apartment, with a big balcony, where I'm growing tomatoes for the first time. And basil for the oh, 5th time or so, till mealy bugs got them so had to pyhterum them.

I'm a Luton, girl, ya know the place....it's got an airport!! I wafted over to NZ nearly 3 years ago...and love it.
Working on the self sufficientish..........I love that word...it's perfect!
We considered OZ, but it's too hot, got snakes & spiders and of course it's got....

Kombanwa Adekun. o-genki desuka? I have been 4 times to Japan. 1st time in 1967, I was youth hostelling. My son is married to a Japanese girl and they moved over there eleven years ago. We went over in 1997,1999 and 2004. My son lives in Mie-ken near Yokkaichi. He has his own English school at his house. Where do you live?

Welcome Islanz -- finally have time to catch up here; been ill, busy, had overseas visitors, and totally flat out for months. Looking forward to a quiet winter, WITH NO SNOW this year.

I live 30 kilometres from farmerdrea (until April and then I will be a neighbour...well almost)..anyway this was the last winter she is talking about...

We got 29 inches of snow, and it took 4 weeks for it to completely melt, as the temps during that month after the snow didn't get much above freezing. Slogging hay bales out to feed goats in the week after snow, with snow drift as high as the top of the fenceline in places was NOT fun. I hope that was just a freak winter (just like this freak summer we've just had, with only 2 days above 30C... hmmmph!), and 2 weeks of fog at Christmastime!
