As I don't know what is called borage in NZ I didn't say anything, but it isn't the borage that we know in Europe. That's quite different and has little star shaped flowers and big hairy leaves like Jack says.

It does look like a pretty wild flower we see in meadows here, but obviously not as an invasive weed like that.

THe plant is defnitely borage, also know as vipers bugloss :Echium vulgare

Viper's bugloss, yes that's the plant I've seen in meadows. In the UK it is just known a Viper's Bugloss, and what we (in France as well as UK) call Borage is Borago officinalis.

This is borage the kind you put in your Pimms and on salads which tastes of cucumber!

From what it sounds like, the worms will be able to crawl through the bottom of the box with the compostable stuff in it.

Set a box on some bricks, then add a tray with worms and food (you can buy brandlings with bedding/food). Then add a tray with fresh compostable matter on top, cover it so that the rain doesn't get in a drown the wormies, then wait for them to make their way from the food on the bottom to the fresh food on top, then do the same thing with the next tray.

You should end up with:

Top Tray: Fresh compostable stuff
Mid Tray: Wormies finishing eating and moving to the top
Bottom tray: Nice compost

You can try to get the liquid out too, by getting something with a solid bottom and putting the three trays on top, then fix a tap in the bottom thing and drain the liquid. The worm pee (its not really, but its a good descrition ) is really good for the garden when diluted.

Hope that makes sense. I might be wrong about the whole trays thing though.
