If you start from the bottom and work your way up, you can always pretend that (after the first few rows) it's just the skirting boards; once you are halfway up - you only intended half panelling (extend to three quarter panelling...) - until you finally make it - or not!

What about plastic corks? Anybody got any ideas for those?

I have actually made a cork board about 4 years ago. It's still sitting infront of me with all my clutter on it.
It took ages to cut all the corks in half and glue them to the cheapo flat cork board I found at a car boot sale. If you'd like to see a pic of it ~ I'll put a link on!

27,500 corks would equate to about one every half an inch. How are you mounting them? I had assumed that they will be on their side, but I guess if you mount them end on, then you will need more of them.
I've just done some measuring:- end on, you get 14 to a foot, so 12' x 8' would need 18,816.
But on their side, you need exactly half that many. Cut in half, you are only going to need 4,704.
Happy hangovers.
Muddy - you have far too much time on your hands

OK people, here's my very very messy cork board. At least the mess is on there and not on the floor!

It's no good; I've tried zooming in, but I can't quite see if your credit card number is on any of those things.
Far, far too much time on me hands.

Ho ho ho Stew nice try,
I did think of that before I posted the picture!
Yorkshire Tea tokens, Screw Fix info, poems, party invites, recycling info from the council, a pic of my grandad, dental appointments...all rather dull!

Stew - you must be seriously bored today...!
I have been collecting corks too, and I only have 15. Does that mean I am not a lush?

me too Shiney
The plastic ones... well we are saving those too as we are bound to find a use for them. Used a slice from one to repair the bottom of the sofa... the foot thingy had come off and it was scratching the floor when moved... so we sliced a bit of plastic cork off and put that on instead - perfecto!!
fly curtains? do you think they would work as those? Cork guns? Do they still do those and could you use plastic corks in them - obviously used very carefully as I'm sure they would hurt lots if they hit you when propelled with great force.

Am I a bit slow or is there a 101 list for these 'babies' ?
Cork curtains, bathroom duck boards etc.....
There are certainly more plastic ones now, my draw is full of them...well 80%.
Let's build a raft!

i guess you could also make dinner mats out of these corks!!
Stew.. was planning to do two horizontal then two upright and follow that pattern through. Although it would be nice to have some variation... Stonehead suggested a few different cuts and I will definitely incorporate those into my design.
