The kettle campaign

Do you know about an event that you want to talk about? Is there a campaign you have started, are involved in or want to start? Inspired by Marvin Gaye this is your place to tell the world what's going on.

Bravo all! We could do with one more result here, and the others may follow suit. If anyone hasn't e-mailed the others, can they do that now?

Do you reckon there's a chance of getting SSH mentioned? like, if we all said we were members of SSH for example?

That would be cool

hardly any kettles on sale out here (a veritable dirth of tea drinkers in Italy!). My mum in England has a kettle with "1 cup" marked on the side, so it's easy to boil the right amount. Can't remember what make it is but it'd be great if other kettle-making companies followed suit.

Tetley:
Adding information to packaging is more complicated! At Tetley we change
our packs when we have to adhere to changes in labelling legislation or,
about every 2-3 years, to make a few design updates. Due to the volumes
we use, it isn't practical to make this more regular. This review was
only completed at the beginning of 2006 so it is a while until the next
one but we will try to incorporate your suggestion at that point.
I'm intrigued: do Tetley plan their "six tokens plus £1 + p&p" promos and comps 2-3 years in advance?

Since I've cut down my tea consumption I buy better quality & it's always been leaf tea for me. I've just bought a new packet of my fair trade & organic Assam so have had a look at the packaging & there's nothing about water - so I'll be contacting Equal Exchange. I know I'm a bit behind here, but it takes me months to get through a packet - especially as I reuse the leaves about 3 times.

Okay I've jumped on the wagon  and today 06/10/06 i've sent the following to the links on the first page. Just to keep them on there toes.

Hi, I've recently been in discussion about the amount of water we boil to make tea and it comes to the fore that most people boil far too much water, which results in a waste of electricity, which has a negative effect on the environment. I was wondering if you would consider putting something on your packets or in an advert which states to use only the amount you require, if changes to packaging is too costly, maybe slip an insert into your boxes?

Thank you for your time.

Lets see how soon they reply.
