Thought I'd add my tuppenys worth. I keep ducks and hens - the hens are in a large run during early veg growing season, the ducks go where they please all the time. I worm the hens part way through the time in their run but I never worm the ducks. I think we have already inflicted enough damage on the earth with the regular use of unneccessary chemicals - AND - I think we are often encouraged to use them to line the pockets of the chemical companies. When God made us all [animals too] he made provision for our well being from the land - its because we are poising our food with chemicals that there are so many health issues nowadays. :(

couldn't agree more rainy, to much chlorine (bleach) in the water, to many (unnecessary) antibiotics, antidepresants, hormones and god knows whatelse. nobody has any resistance to anything these days. apart from the rats, ticks, worms and superbugs. :? well that's my red wine fueled rant over for the evening  just ignore me :drunken:

Thank you Rainy. That's much like my set up although the hens are mostly kept in the large run because they make such a mess when I let them out, but the ducks are free to go anywhere they want.

Well my ducks got wormed, although not on purpose! I wormed the chooks (in their drinking water) and rather stupidly, let them out to free range in the afternoon. I shut the door into their shed to keep the ducks out, but no, the naughty ducks went up the ramp and thru the pop hole and made a complete mess of the chooks water - as ducks do! So now I have to chuck their eggs too for 4 days (which isn't a bad thing as I have way too many eggs).

Will report back if all the fish in the pond die!
