You can buy green tomato jam here in France and it's very nice! Tastes a little bit like grapefruit marmelade. There are recipes on the web.
It's just a thought. I might give it a go if I have lots of green tomatoes left.

Look at that gorgeous redness! Things are definitely moving forward on the tomato front and, although I've been impatiently waiting for weeks, on reflection I don't think it's really that much later than in previous years.
BTW, if you click on the picture you can see a larger version - free photo sharing from Flickr gets a thumbs up from me as a very neat way of sharing images (I've got a whole set of
garden pictures on there).

Lovely pictures, Wulf - your Morning Glory looks fab!
Our tomatoes are only just on the turn now, and they are in a greenhouse, although they went in a bit late.

Wulf - now you are making me go green - with envy - lovely red toms indeed you little show off!
As we are finally having some lovely days my two orangy red fellows are slowly becoming redder - yippee. And mine are in a greenhouse too so heres hoping they will encourage their buddies to also go red.
However, one problem I do think I have is I am becoming very sad - I am now talking about tomato's as tho they are people - do you think I will be able to eat them or will I have become just a little to attached to the guy's????

I don't change the banana skins...I hang them on the wire that is stretched across the greenhouse and leave them to go black ..if necessary I add more. And it has worked for me ....I have had 3 large boxes ...like the sort you used to get in the greengrocers....full of toms.....and large quantities in the freezer already...persevere with the banana skins..although you may just have late varieties

I think the banana skins will work better in a greenhouse than outdoors. Someone somewhere said it had to be in an enclosed space because of the gas given off by the bananas.
I picked 4 more yellow cherry toms yesterday. With the rate the cucumbers and the courgettes are growing, I'm happy to wait for the toms!!

Sarah, maybe you should change our signature from Green is good to Red is good - just to encourage the tomatoes???

I was going to do a Google search for green tomato jam but when I opened a pack of jam jars that I'd bought there's a recipe book inside with tomato jam in it.
I'll post it later - guess I'll have to translate it too!
