We don't do chocolate easter eggs. J might get a couple from friends and family but I don't reciprocate. I'd far rather buy some good chocolate - I bet green and blacks organic chocolate is much better value than some of the cheap brown sugary stuff that is sold as chocolate eggs (and bars!) - oh, and it's tastier and better for you too.
Look at the HUGE amount of plastic packaging on these easter eggs too.... criminal.
We'll hopefully have some goose eggs to decorate this year.

I have told my boyfriend that we are NOT buying any easter eggs this year, not even for his family who always get us loads, beacsue of teh packaging, air miles and just the plain fact that its pure commercialism!
We are going to try to make cocolate eggs instead, and of course I will make the traditional Simnal cake, made one last year which was lovely.

Easter this year coincides with the Spring Equinox (in the Northern Hemisphere) - did anyone mention the goddess Eostre, new life and rebirth (pre-Christian)?
Don't some village have well dressings at this time of year, Derbyshire? - I'm a bit hazy on this!
Anyway, we enjoyed Easter egg hunts when we were diddies, M&D never had enough money to buy flashy eggs even if they wanted too. We decorated eggs too, can't remember how but they came out patterned, a bit like tie dying - I'll have to ask mum how we did it...
One year my bro was given a chocolate bunny and, unbeknown to anyone, took it to bed with him - you can imagine (he took the goldfish to bed with him once too but that's another story)
