x% fat free always makes me twitch too. Especially as full-fat millk is essentially 95% fat free but everyone thinks that's terribly bad for you. But this overpackaged chicken and sweetcorn soup that has 3% sweetcorn and 2% chicken and is mostly water, salt and sugar (i.e. no nutritional value whatsoever) is 95% fat free and terribly good for you.

Or 'This shampoo makes your hair 43% less dry' or '5 times more shiny' or whatever. Less dry than what? That doesn't tell me anything!

it annoys me when I see marshmallows with "100% fat free" on them, like they're a healthy food to eat. what they don't mention is how much sugar there is in them. yeah great for a treat but my god they are not diet food.

Also it annoys me when i hear people say that avocados are not healthy because they contain fats. ok, yeah they do. in every 100g, 14g of that is fat BUT it's GOOD fat, te kind the body NEEDS to stop the bad fats sticking.

finally, don't get me started on australian intonation (in stupid brits, i can put up with it from actual aussies) and the term "at the end of the day".

omg I'm turning into a right grump!!!

Lol, you've just reminded me of that 'too busy to breathe' advert. It's wonderful, hillarious and an absolute gem. I have this image of all these suposedly beautiful women dropping on the streets because they've forgotton to breathe. Tee hee hee. It's wonderful.

Oo oo, and there's the adverts for products with shineum and reflectium and other such nonsense in them.

I saw a lipstick ad last night that said it made your lips look fuller or some such rubbish. In very, very tiny print at the bottom of the screen it states 47% of 34 women asked agreed. What? So they've set up this whole expensive advertising campaign on the opinion of just 16 people? And 47% is obviously less than half, so they're not even in the majority? I despair.

All this is why I avoid buying anything that's been advertised - I really, really don't want to finance such rubbish - or dumbing down of the general public!
