Pilsbury wrote:congrats to you all very inspired now
just pass on some sensable advice i got from a hospital app recently
as you sleep you base metabolic rate will drop to quite low and it will stay there until you wake it up with a feed, that is why the meal is called break fast so it is important to get the rate up as fast as you can which means eating as soon as you can or even a drink of orange juice. During the day as your body works through the calories it slows down again, if it has nothing to work on it will slow down again so low GI food that release the calories slowly will keep the metabolim higher than say sugar. keeping you rmetabolim high helps to burn more calories during the day even if you do nothing else.
Happy to be told different but this is how i understood it and it now makes sense why breakfast is the most important meal of the day and low GI oats in porridge make it even better.
Thanks Pilsbury

I normally just get a cup of tea when I wake and then breakfast when I get the chance. I've just had cornflakes, but I didn't eat them until about 3 hours after I woke up. Perhaps that's where I'm going wrong. So, it's porridge first thing tomorrow then. I do love to snack on oatcakes if I'm hungry, and I've cut way down on bread - although I did have some over the weekend.

Sneaking in with an early weigh, cos I got a compliment today..

Mate said: "Gee you are losing some weight there woman!"

I said:"Oh, am I? You can see it?"

Mate said "Yes, looks like you're arse has dropped at least 2 inches!"

To which I replied, "You mean it's even closer to the ground?"

So headed home and weighed, and sure enough... have hit 73kg.

Yeeha!

Have also started my trainers certification at the mo, so that is heaps good. Has lots of good info and motivation.

Bloody ell, Chilli...

Me thinks you might be kicking my ar*e girl!!!!! Wooo hooo!

Few days off the net and look what happens! Better get cracking..

That coat doing up yet, or what??

Will have to go back and find your calculation thing, and see how we are holding up...

Had chicken and salad for tea. Eating fruit salad now. Haven't had a Snickers bar in about 3 days... I am sure that is a secret to dieting that folks just don't mention! It's the peanuts...

The fleece bit fits fine again. The waterproof section still refuses to oblige. Drat!

Not moving from me :(

I bloat up big style once a month... so I've not bothered to weigh-in this week.

I MUST drink more water... I MUST drink more water... if only I liked drinking water!!!

Maybe you need to mix the water with something more palatble - like scotch....................

You might not lose as much weight but you won't care!

Sorry

LOL good idea !!!!

I'll get there, but I think it's unlikely to be before Christmas... that said, we've got so much stuff to get done over the next two weeks.
