well, the downtime lasted longer than expected, but that is the internet and computers for you.

the old server was just too crowded and could not handle the upgrade, it was like a large block of flats, with Ish renting a small flat on the top floor. So we moved to another server, it is a little more like a cottage with a garden with room for some chickens, and we have full control of what we do here, oh and the neighbours are great.

so the move has bought many changes, bare with us, there is plenty of tweaks yet to do, please feel free to point them out, in a nice polite manner, we will deal with them.

I personally would like to thank everyone that visited the chatroom while the server change / forum move was happening, your support really did make what could have been a nightmare turn into a fun experience, so thank you again for the mass of love that was sent my way.

there are plenty more changes ahead, more features all designed to help us all on the way to being a bit more selfsufficient-ish.

Re-homing an established website can be a nightmare, esp. when the new server is running updated (& incompatible) versions of everything, I truly empathise.

I've only been here 10 minutes but a simple suggestion would be to make the logo a link back to the forum index.

Is there a way that when I type something it can be in black instead of green please - without physically having to change it every single time I post?

I can't see colours very well and the blue topic titles (both light and dark blue) are very pixellated and blurred for me.

Typing in green is hard work on the eyes!

I have seen a few other blips but don't want to be the first to point them out or Shirlz will say I am moaning about the new site.

I've just tested and I can't change the colour of what I am typing in this reply box, unfortunately the colour bars at the side are for changing the text when it is posted. Is there anything I can do to change it to black?

Ah well, I suppose I'll have to get used to it. It's much harder on the eyes with this font (and colours) - but that's a point that's probably particularly bad for all those of us who's eyes aren't getting any younger.

Oooh - looks all rounded and lovely! Lots of new smilies - all on the same page. Loving the font. Well done Headstrong. :thumbleft:

What is rounded? :? :? :?

I think I am on another planet from everyone else (apart from Ina!). :( A lot of what I see is disjointed, blurred and very hard on the eyes and the worst shock for my eyes is going from typing in green, now, to viewing my post, in black. It's like a slap in the eyes.

Anyway, it is going to take some getting use to - old ish was like old comfortable slippers but they had holes in them and stank of the dog, we needed a new pair - well done John

Thanks John!

I hadn't noticed the Alien Smileys til i read this!!

Cool...Alien Smileys...

:cooldude:

I think the new look is going to take some getting used to though. Old Ish was easy and comfortable.
Not sure i like the splatted logo...Nik said it looks like Pers*l's new campaign splat...and it'll be harder to paint on signs for festivals!

Anyway...
