Laying hens wanted!

Post: # 112029Post Teasal »

Any breed so long as they are in lay, to join my happy free range girls. My farm gate egg sales have taken off in a big way - well a few dozen a week! Demand is about to outstrip supply, so an additional 8 hens would be ideal. Knowledgeable home for life will be well cared for. Reasonable prices please!!

Ideally High Peak Derbyshire/Greater Manchester/South Yorkshire.

Why not try rescuing some ex-batts? I know there is a release due in your area soon. We're waiting on this next one too. See thread in Livestock about it. Also http://www.bhwt.org.uk/adopt_some_hens.php

Me too please? If anyone knows of any going spare in the Swindon area, I could do with a couple. I have eggs in the incubator and am getting a couple of young Marans next week but have nothing laying now. I contacted the BHWT but have just missed the recent rehoming and the next one is months away.

Cheers
Zoe

I already have some ex batts and they are good layers, and will hopefully have a few more when the next batch are released, but I really need some layers now, as in today .......
