ok not really parenting! but.. i need to rant about myl ittle brother (he's 18)
the little "person of questionable parentage" decided to run a bath earlier then call his girlfriend to shout at her and turn his decks up to full ear bleed volume levels.
and subsequently the bath overflows through the kitchen ceiling below and im the one that gets an ear full for complaining while he gets a "try-not-to-do-it-again-theres-a-good-boy!" :angryfire: :cussing: :angryfire: AAAARRRGGGH god i hate brothers!!!
thank you for putting up with that, rant over normal service resumes shortly

Hey ho!...the joys of younger siblings. Try to get a copy of a 1960's single by Terry Scott, called My Bruvver...you'll feel so much better after you've listened to it.

My little brother is 20 & still acts like a 10 year old! And he doesn't live with our mum anymore, I don't know how he survives!

What amazes me is that they are like this for as long as they are living at home and suddenly, when they have their own house, they discover things like opening curtains occasionally, ironing , hanging up clothes, NOT being the last one going to bed, keeping music down, etc, etc. Having just had my son visiting more than six years after we shared a home I must admit that I was the one left feeling like the rebel.

A typical example "... isn't that your third glass of wine???" Also, "How can you think with that music on so loud?"

You can't win!

 are brothers worse with older sisters?

my two boys were no worse than each other, albeit in different ways and both are now more grown up than me

cover the floor with paperwork which then covers the plate with last week's pizza and the shower gel from last christmas?

LOL I reckon my daughters in law would disown me were I to do that but it is Sooooooo tempting

An ex-neighbour of mine & his wife were bringing up their 3 grandchildren.... as an ex-army man, it was up to him to do the ironing (wish mine would!)

Anyway, one day, the kids came home from school, to find their clothes all neatly ironed & folded & in a trail on the floor from the front door to their bedrooms & across the bedroom floors.....

He told the kids that he was just 'cutting out the middle man'!!

All 3 kids learnt to be a lot more tidy after that! Classic, still makes me chuckle now.

Julie.

I know it is off at a tangent but.... my brother used to get me to do all his ironing (if plain old fashioned bullying didn't get his way he would pull the routine of "I'll love you for ever and ever...") One day when I had truly had enough of it, I ironed all his jeans with starch and creases down the front.... he never asked me to iron for him again
