The handbag thread reminded me of this
Carry a squareIsh piece of fineIsh fabric - silk, cotton, polywolly whatever - 2 to 3 foot square, can be stuffed in a pocket or folded neatly
and
It can make
a raincover for your head (not just for gurls- guys can do it pirate style)
a neckwarmer
a cooler - wet it and wrap around your neck on very hot days :sunny:
a shopping bag - tie two adjacent corners together, tie the other two adjacent corners together, put goods into the middle, thread one knot through the other - voila a bag :smilebox:
a wound dressing :(
a sunshade :toothy2:
in desperation a hankie :pale:

should I have put this in 101 ??

lol, Snapdragon, maybe

Hubby always says I can think of 101 uses for his (clean, honest!) hankies. Apart from the obvious, they have been pressed into service for:

kid/dog bandage,
a "dabber" (the thing you use to wipe wallpaper down the edge to make it stick well when decorating),
(dampened), wrap to keep cutting moist till I could plant it,
dress (sarong-style) for daughters' Sindy dolls,
bedding for same dolls,
to tie babygate shut when youngest worked out how to open,
to drain fruit pulp,
duster,
emergency ST

I'm sure I've used 'em for lots of other things, but senility means I can't remember any more at the mo

Yep - I've used a few of those too - also to gather blackberries when we found them unexpectedly! :flower:
