I put a wanted ad on Freecycle for a bike trailer (the type you use for 'stuff' rather than kids) and I've been offered one  I'm so excited. I'm just waiting for the lady to contact me again to arrange a time for me to collect it. OH is relieved, as I told him I wanted him to make me one for my birthday.

I have to go right over to the other side of town to collect it, which means I have to bring it back through the town centre. I shall be stopping off at the indoor market, methinks, and stocking up on fruit, fish and meat  . Best make some room in the freezer, then.

I bought a Raleigh Mule fold down trailer from Amazon and it has made a huge difference. Where I live there are 3 shops on the island and it was quite a walk to get to them and to carry the shopping back. The trailer is really stable and I've managed to get 4 bags of shopping home in it. The fact it folds down really makes storage a lot easier.

Isn't freecycle great?? I have put loads of stuff on recently and also got stuff which I could not afford to buy...and I feel virtuousish too!

Nice find!

I'm also looking into getting a bike trailer. Apart from Freecycle, they seem to be priced around £60 on Fleabay. I'm considering building my own from salvaged parts.

Here are some sites to get yer creative juices flowing:

You lucky thing, a trailer is next on my list right after the bike. I'm broke at the moment but want to make the switch from public transport to cycling but I can't even afford a second hand bike at the moment. Tried Freecycle but I've had no luck yet... well we'll wait and see! Hopefully someone will feel sorry for me soon!

Rosendula did you pick up the bike trailer and if so,how's it going?I'm trying to talk my OH into getting one but he's not keen, mainly because of the storage aspect.I have just read someone else's post about a fold up trailer which I will look into.
