Hmmm, :? I'm not sure how reliable this is but my OH has been told by our local council meeting junkie that new grants have just become available for domestic wind turbines.
After doing a little research online I've come to the conclusion that domestic wind power would be very worthwhile but is it really possible on a housing estate?

John Seymour in the Complete Book of Self Sufficiency prefers sun or water power, saying that wind power is hard to win and store so you should always use wind-generated electricity sparingly.

However, if you have a grant, perhaps it would be worthwhile.

Check out this site for more information and speak to the council to see what they have in mind...

Hope this helps...

G'Day Hep,

I live on a housing estate and have just bought a 200w wind generator. My issues with out council are detailed on another thread. I will soon contact them again and see how much they will charge to "permit" me to run it!
