Talk to me about terries please

DS is between sizes of cloth nappies atm and I'm considering using terries in the interim as I just can't quite reconcile myself to disps. How do you fold them for a boy, and will any sort of wrap do?
Thanks.

If memory serves Mrs D'V you fold boy nappies like a sort of flat-topped kite.
I just tried to work out how to describe this and got myself hopelessly confused.
The thing to remember is that boys pee at the front, so you have the thickest part of the terry there, unlike girls who pee down.
If that makes any sense, I hope it helps.

Yep the kite seems to be the best fold for boys,
this website has a good deal of folds to master.
The best wraps (in my opinion) are motherease wraps. I had no end of trouble & leaks before I started using them and now I'll never go back!

Got to agree that motherease are fantastic wraps, only beaten, in my eyes, byt weenotions ones, but they are expensive, but soooo nice too! The only thing I'd add is that if they are going to be used for any length of time bare in mind that at 14 months George learnt to undo velcro! I wish I'd got poppered ones, as now he is running away stripping off at every nappy change!

Yup, kite fold and mother-ease wraps highly recommended by me too.
I used boots basics terries nappies, and was perfectly happy with them. My SIL bought more expensive one from a specialist place, they came in different sizes and were a bit more pricey (I don't know what the benefit of them was

)

Just to add, we started off with just terries and then got other types as he got more mobile, a number of the nappies we got from freecycle were pocket ones and the terries are also great for stuffing them with instead of worrying about the proper insert.

Before giving up (for now) on reusables, I found that the Chinese fold seemed best for my son, who is a particularly heavy wetter.

Thank you. I've just sold Max's Motherease wraps as he had outgrown the small size round the legs, but I've been given lots of Junior Joy so will see how we go with those and the terries. Couldn't agree more about poppers - I had them for DD and would always get them again! Downside is reduced adjustability.

Thank you for this, I think I could become a nappy folding bore!

When George was that little I found it really theraputic to just sit in the evenings and fold nappies ready for the next day, does that make me really sad?

If you're sad then so am I!
