do strawberries grow well in growbags? just i don't have a lot of space nad grow bags would be relly helpful

A few years ago I grew some in a hanging basket and the crop was reasonable (I only had about 5 plants) once I'd worked out how to keep the birds off!! The problem I had with growbags was mice, they ate all my strawberries!! but theoretically they will grow in growbags (I always use the soil from growbags for my hanging baskets) just keep them well guarded from the wildlife

Or if lack of space is your main problem, what about a strawberry tower? You can buy them from several companies, just google, but you could make one from a large plastic container. The side holes don't have to be very big if you plant young plants. It would be easy to protect too.

I made some simple trough / planters out of some salvaged decking, lined them with thick polythene and planted strawbs in those. They seem to work quite well, but you do need to keep them damp as they dry out quite quickly.

They also now seem to sprout randomly out of the cracks in the patio, other plant pots, borders, etc.. (distressingly, the ones growing from the cracks in the patio seem to be doing better than the ones I care for and water / feed. Why do plants mock us like this?? )

At the lotties, a friend has grow bags in one of those teeny tiny plastic covered greenhouse, and they are off the ground away from mice etc and going great guns she already has red strawbs on there.

I gave a load of strawberry plants to one of my co workers & she has put them in growbags, she usually kills things in the garden but apparantly these are blooming & thriving quite nicely.
