We've moved house and I have a plant I can't identify

First week in the house and exploring the garden. This plant is in the veg patch. Its a small patch, reasonably well stocked with peas, beans, potatoes, carrots and onions, but there are some weeds. Could it just be a weed?

The stems get reader going down to the roods that look like they could be tuberous. Small fat pea like pods are forming high up on some fronds.

Thanks pbf, I think that might be it. It would explain it's position in the veg patch. I wonder if it's still useful, or can be saved? I've never grown rocket, so wouln't have know what it looked like, especially when bolted.

Dear Cloud,

Looks like rocket, but with the roots going red and tuberous it might be radish gone to seed. The cross shaped flowers indicate something in the cabbage family (cruciferae) which covers a lot of brassicas.

Love and Peace
Jim

Whther rocket or radish, in both cases the flowers are edible. If they've already gone past the flowering stage by now, at least the seed pods of radishes are very tasty, too.

I dug one up. Should have done that sooner. It's looks very much like one very, very woody radish.

Was planning to try a taste test but it looked so awful I decided not to.

I didn't know the seed pods were edible. I'm defiantly going to try them when they a little bigger.
