Blueberries and peppers

Two queries in one really....

I bought a blueberry plant (for ages i thought they were more like brambles and wouldn't be happy in a pot, don't know why) and on advice I planted in ericaceous compost and slow release fertliser. The blueberries that were green when i bought it have ripened and been eaten (all 7 of them!) so it seems like it's OK, but the leaves started to go red soon after i got it about 6 weeks ago. Will this be the compost and an indication something is wrong or is this normal?

Also, I'm trying peppers for the first time this year and growing mini ones in pots. There are quite a few and most are at the green stage, but some have started to get very dark purple streaky patches - does this happen before they go red or is there something wrong here too?

Thanks for any help!

Hi
Both sound fine and normal to me. Blueberry leaves do go a lovely dark red colour in autumn, then they fall off. Don't worry about it, that's what they do.

Peppers/chillis start off green and then ripen through various colours, yellow, orange, red, purple depending on the type. I've had some go stripey. They look really pretty but sadly it doesn't always last they will carry on ripening and changing colour. The good news is that you can use them at any stage now. Only worry about them if they start to go brown, that may be a sign of over watering.

A word of warning though, peppers really are quite tender so don't leave them outside if its likely to get frosty.

Sounds like you're doing well.
