This is the last of my flowers for the 2010 season. Nasturtiums thrive when the weather turns cool. The plant self seeds most years, and it at the base of a clematis plant. The raised structure is for drainage, since the ground was a swamp when I took over the property six years ago. It is not needed, since drainage tiles have been installed, but is probably too much effort to remove.

I thought you would have had some harsh weather by now which would have killed it off! Mine got frosted last week but I don't have enough room in my compost bins at the moment for all the frosted vegetation. They do look lovely when they really get going and are very easy plants (due to self seeding and just doing their own thing ).

Really like nasturtiums. Bright and cheerful in the garden, tasty young salad leaves and flowers and pickle the seed pods. Sadly mine suffered from too many black fly this year and are only just picking up.
