I want to clean some stuff with vinegar and i read that White Distilled Vinegar is the one to use (right?) so when i go to get some from the store it doesn't say distilled that i could see just calling itself "white wine vinegar"... is this the one? Or is balsamic more suitable? Yours confused. :-s

I always used white vinegar without any problem. Any clear vinegar should do, doesn't have to be distilled.

No, you need White Malt Vinegar. Like the brown stuff you put on chips, only this one is clear.

Hi, does anyone know anything i can add to vinegar that is harmless and will increase its viscosity to say something like fairy liquid?

Depends what you want it for, SEIsher. If it's for cleaning, have you thought about Fairy liquid itself? That would increase the viscosity, and I don't THINK there'd be any other reaction. If it's for food purposes, it might be worth trying cornflour or arrowroot. Again, I don't know if there'd be any chemical reaction, so a small test may be worth doing.

Ah cool yes it would be for cleaning - i guess i could mix it with fairy liquid though shame it wouldn't be edible. I will look into arrowroot as an option as i don't know anything about it. Thanks MKG.

I use simple white malt vinegar for any cleaning that needs vinegar.
I would imagine that any large supermarket would do it although I find it in my local corner shop or a more slighly oldfashioned shop.
Good luck
