Ginger beer question...

Post: # 23733Post npsmama »

Hello!

I'm new!

A question for all you home brew experts please...

I am making ginger beer using the ginger beer plant method. After a week of 'feeding' the plant the recipe says to add 1 gallon of water, sugar and lemon and put it in brown containers with corks.

I haven't got a brown containers. What else can I use?

thanks

The reason for brown containers is normally to keep the light out. With red wine it stops it loseing its colour. As an alternative use clear containers and wrap them in brown paper or news paper.
