Recycling Christmas cards

M & S are collecting old christmas cards on behalf of the Woodland Trust. They will plant a new tree for every 1000 cards they collect:

I use them for shopping lists before composting or burning them.

I did sort through first to see if any could be cut up to make gift tags for next year but there were very few that were suitable.
They're good for making templates for patchwork as well.
Looks like we're starting a 101 uses for thread here....

I make Christmas tags out of suitable ones and my children use the pictures for craft and the rest goes to recycling at m&s.Clare

Oh dear - I just use ours as firelighters. I feel vaguely guilty about setting fire to something someone took the trouble to send me, but I've never got enough cardboard to keep up.
