Do not store glass demi-johns in shed because only after you have spent hours straining four day old pear water, then added sugar, yeast & nutrient will the demi-john lose it's bottom and you will lose the entire contents of potentially yummy pear wine down the sink.

My own fault for storing it in the shed in freezing temps

Oh noo! How infuriating. It is the logical place to store them though, no one would blame you.

I used to store mine in the cupboard under the stairs. Not much help if you live in a bungalow, though.

Yeah, I'll be keeping mine in my sewing room from now on!
It is the logical place to put it though... I mean, Pingu's dad and grandad stored and made wine in an igloo shed!

That would be Pingu Noir, then.
(Don't shout - it's the best I could do).

				Pingu Grigio?
I've done the same - taken demijohns out of the shed and then put boiling water in them to sterilise them...I lost about 4 demijohns that way until the little brain kicked in...

				Pingu Noir... yes, very funny!
4 demijohns?! Oh I'd be crying!
