I went on my monthly shopping trip to the dreaded T on Friday. As usual I'm shopping for all the family's differing requirements and trying to keep to a budget.
I spotted a couple of packs of fishcakes (a particular favourite of my Ma's

) in the reduced section. I picked them up, only to notice they were 15p dearer than the special offer (2 for £4). There was a member of staff unpacking some stuff so I asked him how that worked - he looked puzzled and fetched a supervisor who told me quite primly that the special offer no longer applied.
I laughed out loud and told her that was ridiculous, then walked off to buy the lower cost/longer use by date fishcakes.
Although I'm still laughing at the stupidity of the situation I've been wondering since how many people would just pick them up, not realising. I'm guessing I probably have in the past!
