My first post. Aside from foraging local berries (Damsons, Blackberries, Sloes), I've never dared venture into mushroom territory. I have a fair few pics of mushrooms etc I've taken over the past year, none of which I've ever picked. I've read so many horror stories about poisoning I've never dared.
However, today we spotted growing on an old tree by Barnes common (SW London) what looked like Oyster mushrooms. Can anybody comment?

Re: Mushroom ID
They do very much look like Pleurotus ostreatus a species of oyster. Maybe a local chef could I.D them for you?

Re: Mushroom ID
They almost certainly oysters (though a close up picture would be better for an accurate ID). However, I wouldn't trust a chef!
