This year I decided to feed the turkeys sparingly, and let them forage away
They received approx. 100g of 21% protein per day and yielded approx. 4.3kg dead weight
This compares to approx. 200g per day with a yield of approx. 8kg dressed weight
FYI

Re: Turkey feeding
I'm not sure what this means as you don't appear to be comparing like for like. But, if as it appears a foraging turkey is less than half the weight of a fed one, I'm guessing they're more the size/weight of a bird that hasn't been overstuffed - yes?
I'd be more interested in taste comparison. I'd be willing to bet that the foraging one tastes better.

Re: Turkey feeding
Both set of birds foraged, but last year I increased the feed as they grew
what it tells me is for every 25g (which = 0.19 cent) per day will give me about a kg of dead weight
I can in theory provide a turkey of a set weight, plan for the cost and predict the profit
