My digital camera has died. I've bought a new one, but I wonder if there is anywhere I can recycle my dead one? I know there are places you can post your old mobile phone for recycling. Is there anything similar for cameras, or for electronic gadgets in general?

I put mine on Freecycle® clearly marked as non-working. It was taken in minutes (and apparently was made to work again).
