I have a few ideas that will help you help the planet.

Recycle all plastic bottles cut the tops off use the bottom half to grow veggies in and use the top bit without the lid threaded on a piece of string which you then string up on poles or canes and they act as a bird detterent and keeps them off your veggies.

carrier bags and bread bags can then be tied to the top of the pole for added security,

All your left over food (cooked) give to your chickens helps them with laying you can also feed back to them the used egg shells too, this helps their digestion.

If you have goats feed them all left over potato peelings, greens etc but NEVER feed then the green tops of the potato plant or rhubarb leaves as these are deadly to goats.

My hens and my cockerel are particularly fond of left over pasta and left over chips. nothing is wasted in my house if i can help it.

Certaibly no chicken here, or eggs, but theyaa re very partial to a nice bit of fish

I don't like giving chicken to the hens either ..

but they are completly free range ..

and we gave the bones to the feral cats around us .. as far away as possible from where the hens are ...

and the chooks are actualy chasing the cats off to get the bits !

maybe that's because these 2 roosters were really annoying them when they were alive !

cats can choke on chicken bones (the bones tend to splinter when they're been cooked and stick in their throats)

We didn't give them to the dogs for that reason but someone had told me that cats would be fine !

cats are probably generally bright enough to not chew them but feral kitties might be too hungry to be careful. They make good stock (the chickens, not the cats!)

Them ferral cats are not starving ..

The farmer who owns the barn down the back is feeding them in the morning .. and we feed them at night ! they are well looked after !

The only problem was that the hens went and picked up the remains of the cooked chickens !

I don't like that either ...

I read somewhere that you don't give meat products to hens ...all other household cooked food is ok.
Dont you find though that when you give your hens their shells back that they start eating their eggs before you get to them, i did so stopped feeding the shell to them.

I don't feed my poultry meat either - but they help themselves to lots of flies etc LOL
