Delilah's 12 offspring will be weaned in the next fortnight as they are growing fast and she is starting to lose condition (and interest). They're eight weeks old on Monday, but we'll keep them with her as long as possible allowing for her condition.
They're Berkshire/Tamworth crosses. Berkshires mature early, Tamworths mature late so these should be in between. Berkshires are porkers, Tamworths are baconers, so again these should be in between and suitable for either. Both Berkshires and Tamworths are noted for the flavour of their meat.
Ten will be available for £35 each at weaning, and no, no deals as that means we'll break even on them. (The two we're keeping to fatten are our profit.)
They can be transported in a car if you have a suitable crate (a large dog cage is fine), but you will need a trailer come slaughter time as they'll be much bigger. They will come with metal PET tags, suitable as slaughter ID, so you won't need to buy a tagger or slapper before having them killed.
If anyone in the Grampian area would be interested in a couple (or more) to fatten up, please let me know. I'll change the PM status so it emails me!
