My site for my house and garden - the restoration project at Nonsuch. Not all that self-sufficientish, but getting there.

In restoring a crumbing Victorian house to what it once was, the self-sufficientish bit has come naturally.
In the garden plans, virtually the entire eastern section of the garden, currently labelled as flower beds, has been turned into food production.
A northerly aspect in the southern hemisphere is good, good, good.

wow you certainly have put a lot of work into it, puts us to shame. I would love to have a garden that wasn't as a flat as a pancake, so much more interesting and with more potential.

Oh wow! I will bookmark that to look at properly later. I absolutely adore your verandah metalwork. Swoon.

I absolutely adore your verandah metalwork.
You weren't the one to have to paint it.

It was a nightmare. Seven coats of various applications.

I didn't know you did that yourself! Ohmigod, I think I would have put my head in the oven halfway through!
I've had a great look through your website - what a marvellous transformation. I love all the cat cages designed into it all too. It was good to see your plans to understand what was where in the garden. But now I want to see more photos! We still haven't seen piccies of your bog garden or your rainforest!

Stunning place, and the work you've done is amazing!
Are you a girl or a boy?
If you're a girl I'm going to have to come over and marry you!
And if you're a boy...

It's a date, then! :)
This coming year or 2 is the inside of the house, and then I am going to never ever see another builder so long as I live. I hope.
