bovan nera, 16 weeks old, have just the three girls in our garden. the turkeys on "order" are bronze.

very pleased with my girls as they took to the travel and new chook house like a duck to water! found their pellets, water and grit withing minutes! and have completley ignored the dog.. who has been running about trying to "flush " them (she's a spaniel).

Nice one - we had bovans nera when we were in Herefordshire - they are great and lay lots of eggs too

LOL at the dog trying to flush them - but no surprise when you hear that she's a spaniel.

LOL.. well she's great for keeping the birdies off the veg patch.. and has figured out that she only gets a treat when she doesn't run across it! now she has to figure out that the chooks can't get on the veg..and to leave alone! LOL

Congrats on the feathered homecoming! you'll soon have so many eggs it'll be omlettes every night! Glad you found some Turkeys-were they from one of the numbers in the newsletter? I may go down that road next year, I was going to do it this year but things conspired....I'll see how you get on first!

See you Monday
Kind thoughts
Deb

turkeys were kind of from those numbers.. got passed about a bit.. but.... they are coming from.. fenton farm.. at holcombe rogus which is just up the road from us. they'll be ready for us on the 29th august.. which gives the poor darlings 5 months of good roaming and great eating up all their greens!!! :? :pale:
