Organic Fabric Freshner?

Hope this is the right place to put this question.....

I recently got a second hand single bed for my spare room from freecycle.

It's a lovely quality bed and free of stains, but the previous owners were smokers I think, and there is a "certain smell" about it...... and it's not pleasant.

I don't use aerosols and chemical cleaners in my house (allergies and personal choice) but I want to get something that will help make this bed smell better.

Any suggestions for a solution that I can make up with natural ingredients? :flower:

50/50 alcohol and water with 20-30 drops of essential oil to the pint pro rato. I like to mix rosemary, lemon and lavender oils but you might want to use your favourites or maybe some tea tree for disinfectant properties - rosemary is disinfectant too.

Oh, should have said, put the mixture in a plant mister bottle to use. (don't spray the plants though!

I suppose if we had a few sunny days you could put it outside for a bit of airing...

Had another thought, you could mix up "carpet freshener" which is baking soda with a few drops of essential oil mixed in, spread it on bed, leave to work then vacuum off.
