This morning i got up to 50mph gusts of wind and rain slashing at the windows, this afternoon bright sunny clear and quite warm, poor old mother nature is certainly getting her fare share of global warming prolems,
I remember a few years ago march used to be daffodils just pushing there head through the snow,snow drops in full regalia crocuses pushing up now every thing is in full bloom, i even have lettuce, onions and perenial flowers pushing well through.
Scary thought really

I know it's terrible - we had it all about 3am this morning..

not to bad now but it has it's moments - we had sleet a few minutes ago and now the sun is shining - the weather is changing so much and so quickly it's frightening!

Lots of rain here too, with a dash of sleet thrown in for good measure. It's eased off a bit now but no sun so far.

The German Weather Service is predicting high winds and rain here tomorrow, my daughter's birthday. It's nice today, sunny and warm.

It's been heavy rain here all day, my conservatory is covered in washing up bowls to catch all the leaks! (Another job when it clears up!)We had a couple of hail bursts earlier too, but it's back to rain and wind now.
I'm glad I don't have to go out any more tonight...staying in the warm with a bottle of wine I think!

Our weather has been much the same as oldtreeman's - friends of ours have a yurt that was blown over.

A downed tree meant I couldn't get to work this morning, the irony is not lost on me

Ha! We may have had 130 kmh winds here (I have no idea what that is in the Old Money) BUT the tree house I built for the girls a few weeks ago has stayed in the tree. For the time being at least.

I was expecting my mini greenhouse (which I put back together a couple of weekends ago) to have relocated somewhere else but so far so good and it is still in place, seeds n all!

Whilst your having all that awful weather over there, we are having a drought in NZ!

It must have been really stormy last night - not that I noticed anything while asleep; but this morning all sorts of debris is blown about outside.

I have to wonder a little whether our recent bad weather is actually more like what it used to be before we had a run of not-quite-so-recent good weather. Isn't there an old, old saying about March - in like a lion and out like a lamb? So far, that seems pretty accurate.

It was pretty bad here - I have a dodgy stand of dead alder about 60 ft high in my orchard and a couple of the trees snapped off halfway down but luckily managed not to land on any other tree. So a bit more firewood for us!

Unfortunately quite a few healthy branches snapped off my weeping willow which is a shame.

My pond burst its banks for the 2nd time this year (never done that before in the time we've lived here) but soon receeded.

So, could have been worse.

As for plants/trees/bulbs being advanced, we've had blossom since mid February and round here it is beautiful with all the blossom on the mimosas, peaches, that ornamental prunus with the purple leaves and pink flowers, forsythia, japonica - the hedgerows are full of white blossom which look like my mirabelle plum which flowers really early, not to mention all the daffies. I think my tulips will be flowering before the end of the month!

In all we've really only had a couple of months of winter, in terms of plant dormancy!

the worst is over finally here, and now its just very very windy and rainy!

we have some bits of next door's roof in our yard.. but the huge leylandii from other next door are still standing. guess the weak ones were taken out in that localised storm a week or so before.

we have had so much rain .. everything is just waterlogged.
