Hi, I've set u a website that's free and easy to use as a way of passing on old items that you may normally throw away but may be useful to other people.

It's called www.freeuseit.net it's free to advertise and you can attach up to 6 photos.

You may even find something you need, so why not have it for free.

It's still in it's early days and so needs members.

Frogbox, can you please introduce yourself.

Your new site sounds alot like Freecycle and Don't Dump That... I am afraid I don't want to click on the link so don't know anymore about it.

I checked the site with all guards up and running - it's as clean as a whistle.

That it might be, but we do have a few Freecycle and Dont Dump That mods on here.

Please, introduce yourself, otherwise your post is seen as an advert for your site. These are fine in signatures, and one post otherwise (links is probably the best place for it), but we really do ask taht if you wish to advertise, contact a Mod first. Or, introduce yourself and become part of the Ish family, rather than using the forum for free advertising. Thanks

And, for gods' sake, stop telling people to use these sites to 'get things for free'! I'm forever booting people off the one i moderate for asking for 'Widescreen TV, Plasma TV etc etc'.

Hi,

sorry it is my site, I am just trying to make it known so I suppose it is an advert for it.

I'm pretty new to this kind of thing, if you'd like to advise me as the best way to approach this. I'll make the changes.

When I had the idea for it I didn't know about any of the other sites, apart from FreeCycle.

Would it be possible to add a link to it?

Regards,

Adam Wilcox

Most people add something in there signature to advertise themselves and have a link, the more you post and join in on the forum the more times you get a free advert! Have a read of thisit might help a little.

Thanks for that link, it looks really good, I'll take a proper look later. I hope you don't mind but I added an entry in the links links and more links forum, it seemed more relevant.

I'm guessing your not the Andy Hamilton who keeps appearing on Radio 4 comedy programs!

I've just been having a good clear out and found new homes for a router, a radiotor and so on.

What really bugs me is the time wasters! :angry4: Lovely day today but couldn't go to the beach as I was waiting in for a lady to collect a bicycle. - when I eventually got hold of her it was 'sorry - I forgot and i'm not sure what I wanted anyway' grrrr!

So nice to have a rant! (Don't 'spose anyone wants a bike? lol)

Yes - I've been watching the local freecycle since I joined here, and although I haven't seen a single thing I want (no - honest) I've seen the same names cropping up time after time for wanteds. I was getting annoyed about this until I saw someone else's posts (on this site) on sharing - and got a signal lesson on what giving was actually about.

So - if you share/give away, there'll always be timewasters. Who gives a monkey's? The genuine person - the one who is going to be the real recipient - is going to make your day.

'Nuff said.

Since nobody else has replied to that yet - no, he's not. But he (and his brother) have been on radio 4, Today programme...
