Green Fingers Slug Defence Gel

Anyone used this or something similar?
It was in the "Natures Way" section of the garden centre. I dont want to use any nasties on my veg plot
Just wondered how you found it because I dont want to spend money on it if its no good.

Sorry Mew - I looked at your post earlier and then lost it. I have no experience whatsoever with shop-sold slug repellants, having a good few hundred or so of the web-toed croak-croak variety (highly recommended). However, I did read one review of this product which said, in a nutshell, that it didn't do what it says on the tin.

We use beer, sharp implements (don't call the RSPCM!), and last week, OH left a mug outside overnight with dregs of Horlicks (in morning, 2 slugs in it).
I need a headband to keep the wind-up torch so I have 2 hands free for dealing with the critters

Well, an advice from my aunt - she lives in England - was to stomp some egg shells and put the around your plants/flowers. The slugs wouldn't go there or die or something.
