Fill it with compost to grow extra-long carrots/parsnips. Or put some fresh manure in the bottom, then garden soil, then compost and grow 2 courgettes (or cucumbers). Or sink it into the soil and grow mint in it.

I had one at my last house. Painted the outside and turned it into a water feature. Looked lovely with a water lily in it.
I think you should be able to grow loads of herbs in it. A bay tree in the middle perhaps and some rosemary.

We use one filled with water and washing soda over a propane heater to boil up old frames from the hive to sterilize for the next year. You have to block up the holes but if you know of a beekeeper and your stuck with what to do with it I'm sure they'd be happy to swap some honey for it!
kind thoughts

Metal is in demand. What would its scrap value be?
