Hazelnut milk<\/p>\n
If you\u2019ve been lucky enough to grow or forage an abundance of hazelnuts then this is a great way to use them up. It also makes a delicious alternative to cows milk.<\/p>\n
Method \u2013 makes around a pint<\/p>\n
Shell the hazelnuts and half fill a breakfast bowl with them.<\/p>\n
Top the bowl up with water and soak overnight<\/p>\n
Discard the water and place the soft hazelnuts in a blender<\/p>\n
Top up with around a pint of water (approx 550mls)<\/p>\n
Blend the mixture<\/p>\n
Pass it through a sieve or muslin bag and squeeze<\/p>\n
Bottle and refrigerate<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll be left with the husks of the nuts which I found could be used as a spread when mixed with a little vegetable oil<\/p>\n
