Re: Things that make you smile

my eldest can say the most unexpected thing, in an Enid Blyton grown-up voice, and blow me away with the wonder of him. my youngest can volunteer a song, in his tiny, sweet, angelic voice, that brings a disbelieving tear to the eye, as we know he is a devil. In the most unlikely setting, in the midd...

Re: Getting to know you... part 3...

What nickname did you have as a kid? none as a kid, that I can remember, or answered to. Swot at school I suppose. Delphi for most of my adult life by a good friend. What did you want to be when you were "all growed up"? I don't know - a lady of leisure? A world saver? Don't know really Wh...

Re: Sanpro/breast pads

do you know I got a tingle reading this - I too had a let down reflex that drowned small villages. Other peoples children, thinking of my own, even photos could cause "seepage". When it was feeding time, I would be rock hard, and fountaining. Blurgh. Stopped bf 15 months ago, so weird to f...

Re: BGG 2009 anyone?

yes I am going! Don't be so convinced about a baby being immobile - if she is 4/5 months now, she will be about ten months then. My two horrors were walking, nay running by that age! Still, lots for them to do at BGG. We found that you could buy moltex there last time, and there MIGHT be a cloth nap...

Re: Veggies for damp Northern climes

yes, concrete floors in this weather - brrr. we have a carpet, but no central heating. Anyway. I have disgusting success with runner beans. I think it must be me, as I grew them in London, and I grow them up here in Carlisle. I had NO success with parsnips, but our sprouts are still on the go and po...

Re: Late walking baby.....

my first one pulled himself up to stand at 6 months and was beetling around confidently by a month later. The second one pulled himself up at about 7 months and was walking and climbing confidently by 9 months. As a result, both dh and I are exhausted, my mum and uncle are exhausted, I never had any...

Re: HFWs back!

I'm enjoying this series more than the last one, evidenced by the fact I am remembering to watch it! Liked the foraging one. Wish I had some rich benefactor to come along and say "I'll give you half the money to set up...whatever" I'd make more of an effort to get on with stuff!

Re: Spinoff - why did you choose your username?

I thought I had answered this! Anyway. I'm circlecross because someone bought me a pendant years and years ago, which is a circle, quartered by a cross. Like in The Dark is Rising. And I still wear it round my neck (it is a charm on a necklace, rather than like a ruff). So thats me. Rod in Japan - I...

Re: Mysteries

on the subject of sweets, if the makers of revels know that some of their flavours are horrible, why continue to make them? Why not just make the nice ones?

Re: Getting to know you

What is your favourite colour? purple or bright pink. can't decide, but like dark green as well. Where did you go on your last holiday? Croissant Neuf Summer Party in Usk and Northern Green Gathering. Rained. What is your favourite item of clothing? a pair of pants. Good times. But at moment a big j...

Re: banging head on table

I have heard dark tales of muppets bred in captivity and released into the wild by well-meaning muppet-rights activists. I do hope its short life was not spent in confusion and a niggling feeling it should be running up and downstairs counting manically...
