Re: pictures of your pets if you have any
Two bassets!!! I grew up with a very bad basset hound named Max. My mum used to dispair of his naughty behaviour but he was a huge part of the family & lived to be 11 despite being epileptic. Beautiful silly dogs

Re: Yes they really are that stupid!
It is true - sheep really do spend every waking hour plotting their elaborate deaths. Much like guinea pigs unfortunately (although they are more prone to go "oh I feel unwell, I think I'll die" and then do!)

Re: Eco knitting supplies
Definitely try spinning yourself - the little drop spindles are very cheap (or fairly easy to make yourself I believe!) - its very rewarding. I can fully recommend (ie, I've bought from them & been very happy!) the following http://www.fleming.flump.net/~webofwoo/shop/index.php (always worth a l...

Re: any ideas? sorry its long
I'd personally refuse to let this man see his children. He sounds like he doesn't deserve their lovely company. But I am probably biaised that way because my son never saw his good-for-nothing father after we separated, and since I have had contact with the girl with whom he had a daughter after, I ...

Re: Birth-to-potty or sized nappies?
We have used a mixture of pre-folds and Motherease. I don't think I started using the Motherease straight away because they were definitely too bulky and pre-folds were ideal (I've never met a wriggly newborn!!!!!). But now Ash is 16 months old he is in a mixture. If you do go for pre-folds then the...

With all the money she is saving on heating bills & food shopping I'm sure she has more than paid back her investments in the "installations" in her home. We have cut back by getting rid of our Sky subscription, TV licence, changing energy providers, changing car insurers and cancellin...

Re: European trend to recycling leads to mass shortage...
That sounds brilliant to me Julie. I have recycled as much as I can since I moved out of home 15 years ago. Anything which isn't collected by the council (glass, tetrapaks, plastic bags, textiles) I recycled myself. I do find it unfair that we never ever fill a landfill wheely bin whilst the neighbo...

Well done you! Cute photo too & great experience I bet. I use Qjump or Trainline online - you get to see all the details of changes before you buy, I get myself super cheap tickets to London this way too - singles always being far cheaper than returns

Re: How do you make extra income from your backyard or farm?
And rather frustratingly the DEFRA legislation states that you cannot sell eggs from hens who are fed "kitchen scraps". I would rather my hens have a varied diet which includes cabbage leaves & the odd bit of wholemeal toast than those on a bland layers mash/pellets diet supplemented o...

Re: Wanted (please) - Leg Rings for Hens x 4
Ooooh thats good to know. Although we don't have a proper local supplier of our feed - we have to order it in from the local pet food supplier. I guess I'll have to find a better supplier. Thanks for the tip Zoe.
