Re: This seems like the best place to post this...

I felt exactly the same way when I joined :thumbleft:

There are a lot of threads I can't contribute to cos I'm light years away from that level of ish but I read a lot of what's posted and I've learnt so much in the few months I've been here :sunny:

Re: Alternative to bleach

We keep a bottle in the first aid box but I've never thought to use it for anything else - thanks for that, I'll give it a go :thumbright:

Re: Alternative to bleach

True, but when the bleach is gone he's going to have to go and buy it himself cos I won't be adding it to the shopping list Image

Re: Alternative to bleach

Lol I know, but I feel like by giving it a good scrub I'm actually getting rid of more than I would be by just pouring bleach over it (like hubby does!).

Re: Any hints for saying NO?

I would take a few photos, email them to her and say much as you'd love to see her, the house is very much a work in progress and having her to stay would simply not be practical at the moment :dontknow:

A shiny white pan - what more proof do you need?

All bleach does is whiten whatever's there, that's not clean to me :dontknow:

It's also costing a lot more to set up the whole thing than the TV story led you to believe

Re: Alternative to bleach

Even though I keep the loo clean with vinegar and bicarb I can't convince himself that there's no need to put bleach down there too  He doesn't like the smell of vinegar and I don't like the smell of bleach but as I'm the one that scrubs the pan I think I will ultimately win that little battle...

Re: eco boat

I saw it too - I think it was in America? Not sure what channel it was on though. Hubby was a bit cynical about it but I thought good luck to them, chances are that what they do on that boat will affect the way they live their lives in the future :thumbright: If it raises awareness in the meantime a...

Re: Basic Manners

I get it from the other direction - I work in the customer care department of a medical supplies company and we regularly get spoken to like we're dirt, no please or thank you or basic manners. The customer might always be right (no comment) but there's no need to be rude to us :(

Re: How do you cope with ignorant people?

Ignore them, for the sake of your own sanity - I've been trying for 5 years, without success, to get one of the women I work with to flip over her ring bound notepad and use the other side when she gets to the end. It's such a simple thing but she says it looks scruffy! :angryfire: I use the other s...
